Lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. Primarily interested in the following: a) Visual and textual lines; b) the antiseptic tempered by a quiver of the handmade; and c) the diagrammatic and/or explanatory, especially when cloaked in ostensible self-importance without necessarily being true, serious business. Adherence to stringent procedural methods allows for an iterative exploration of the above concepts ad infinitum [read more].

WORK: Images from Excerpts: Deformed Spreadsheets
“‘A harpy, or some sort of human-bird hybrid monster, it needn’t be female, and maybe it’s just a falcon or eagle, is flying high up between several skyscrapers all clad in glass. The glass has that kind of highly reflective treatment to it. The bird-thing, wait, there could be three of them, no, just one, is carefully watching its own reflections, as well as the reflections of its reflections, on the panes of the office windows. These windows also distort the spectrum of the reflected light to a certain extent, like a refraction grid maybe, I don’t know. This is all happening in slow motion, mind you, and the bird-thing is waiting for the exact moment when all of the reflections, and all of the reflections of the reflections, of its wings appear to be a specific variety of metallic green. A green that is deep and dark and bottomless in places, but also at times will betray hints of a lustrous gold submerged beneath only a thin pool of green. It has already seen itself adorned by this rare colour in as many as three windows simultaneously, but never in all of them at once. Anyway, it’s up there, the bird-thing, relentlessly anticipating the shift to that exact moment of chroma amongst all of the reflected images of its wings,’ at this point Tadeusz has freed his finger from deep within the bottleneck and begins to relax and actually listen to Gregory, ‘and it is precisely that kind of attention to detail, that acute sensitivity to modulation, we should be striving for.’
“Having not paid attention to a single word detailing the actual model Gregory suggests the pair should emulate, Tadeusz erroneously assumes that only wholesale agreement with his colleague will spare him from appearing as a dilettante.”

“The conversation has steadily descended into deadly serious philosophical agreement. Tadeusz just now notices that he is thoroughly enjoying himself. Nevertheless, Gregory makes him nervous—a condition Tadeusz forever attempts to offset by fiddling with whatever is at hand. Next moment Tadeusz is panicking, as he discovers his index finger is stuck knuckle deep within the mouth of his beer bottle. Gregory is saying something very important, but Tadeusz is too worried about his trapped digit to pay attention to his colleague.”
