Lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. Primarily interested in the following: a) Visual and textual lines; b) the antiseptic tempered by a quiver of the handmade; and c) the diagrammatic and/or explanatory, especially when cloaked in ostensible self-importance without necessarily being true, serious business. Adherence to stringent procedural methods allows for an iterative exploration of the above concepts ad infinitum [read more].

WORK: News
The Pleasant Matthews: ParalleL
For well more than a year I have been working on a really loose series of collaborative drawings with Eric Simons, Nick Lakowski, Nathan Matthews, and (on occasion) others. Nathan’s one part of a band called The Pleasant Matthews, which has just released the album ParalleL. It features some of the drawings we’ve produced together, and sounds really great!
COPY \\ unfold
This is very old news, but some years ago I made a contribution to COPY’s edition Unfold.

There are other Art Waste (and Music Waste) happenings this weekend:
ART WASTE GROUP SHOW 2015 // IN DREAMS
Although I don’t think I can make it out tonight, I have something new in the ART WASTE 2015 Group Show.
7th annual CARDED! Trading Card Art Show
Photo: Jackie Dives.
I’ve got a card in the Carded! trading card art show this year. Featuring the work of fifty artists reproduced on trading cards, it’s an annual event and is always a fun evening of mingling and trading for your favourite cards.
The show is one night only at Hot Art Wet City, and is happening this evening (Saturday, April 11, 2015). I hope to see you there!
“Keepsakes”
I have an image-text pairing in “Keepsakes”, an exhibition opening on August 16, 2014 in Toronto, Canada:
“Keepsakes” is part exhibition and part art-trade. Twenty-seven artists from Canada and abroad have each contributed a small artwork representing themselves and their practice to be displayed at bric-à-brac studio. At the conclusion of the show, the pieces will be randomly distributed back into the hands of a fellow participant. Each artwork is a gift from one stranger to another, a token sent as a delegate in a yet unknown land. The aim of this project is to create a platform where emerging artists from near and far distances alike can establish lasting connections with each other in a meaningful way.
Reception: Aug 16th, 7-11pm
Show runs: Aug 16th – 30th
Outside of the opening, bric-à-brac studio is available for viewing by appointment. Email bric-a-brac@nadinemaher.com to arrange.

bric-à-brac studio is sometimes a gallery, often a studio, and always the home of two emerging Toronto artists.
“This coiled element, oversized beneath the percolator, was an even, rich and deep, yet barely luminous, red. This had the look of silent, uncompromising rage. This terrified me.”

The 6th Annual CARDED Trading Card Art Show
I had a card in Carded! 2014 at Hot Art Wet City in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday, April 26, 2014. I wasn’t able to attend this year, and so I still have in my possession quite a few of the 20 cards allotted each participating artist (see above). The image I used is a detail from this drawing. If you’d like one of the cards, send me an email and I’ll either post it to you or give it to you in person.
